SWL - QUALITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

IN 2007 WE SET OUT ON A NEW 10 MW FIRING INSTALLATION AT THE
LANGENBERG SITE.

Given current environmental protection issues, scarce resources, and the enormous cost increases for fuels involved with them, we decided to assure ecologic energy generation with renewable raw materials and thus affirm our allegiance to the ecological responsibility devolving on a modern industrial enterprise.

Since the installation went on stream we have been in a position to dispose of all wood residues (wet and dry) such as particles, chips, bark, pallets, shrubs, sanding dusts, as well as any waste accruing from the production of wooden materials in a clean and cost-effective way. We no longer use fuel oil or coal for energy generation.

The future will show how important and justified our decision was to opt for energy conservation and the use of renewable raw materials. In the medium term, SWL will benefit from optimizations in all fields and in the short term we have already achieved efficient conservation of our resources.
